Solo Kate Middleton Holds Her Royal Own

Absence has made Kate Middleton's heart grow fonder.

With her husband off in the Falkland Islands on military duty, the Duchess of Cambridge confessed she has been "missing him terribly," but is keeping busy.

Among several successful solo engagements, Kate held her own for the first time as a member of the royal family, celebrating with Queen Elizabeth herself and the Duke of Edinburgh, as the family kicked off the Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour.

Kate isn't entirely alone with William in the Falklands. She has also had special company to keep her from being lonely in recent days: her new puppy, Lupo.

"I've got a dog keeping me occupied," the Duchess told interfaith worker Riaz Ravat at a lunch in Leicester. "I'm getting a lot of me time with the dog!"

Lupo, an adorable black cocker spaniel puppy that the pair adopted over the holidays, recently accompanied Kate on a walk through Kensington Gardens.

Republican Presidential Race: Rick Santorum Cruises to Kansas Caucus Win

The protracted race for the GOP presidential nomination grew a bit tighter today as Rick Santorum won the Kansas caucuses by an overwhelming margin.

With 97 percents of the precincts reporting in the Sunflower State, Santorum earned 51 percent of the vote, with Mitt Romney second with 21 percent.

Newt Gingrich with 14 percent and Ron Paul with 12 percent to finish in third and fourth, respectively. Alabama and Mississippi hold primaries Tuesday.

Santorum stands to gain a substantial number of Kansas' 40 delegates, which he called crucial to competitive in the race for his party's nomination.

"We have to do well here in Kansas," Santorum said this week in Lenexa, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City. "We have to win here in Kansas, and win big."

Romney and Gingrich largely skipped Kansas in favor of the states voting next week. Santorum and Paul had been the most active campaigners in Kansas.

Romney began the weekend with 339 delegates, with 107 for Gingrich, 95 for Santorum, and 22 for Paul, according to the Republican National Committee.

The RNC totals do not reflect any wins in states where delegates are not bound to the winning candidates, and also differ from various media estimates.

Romney remains the odds-on favorite to win the GOP nod and face off with President Obama in the fall, but his opponents clearly aren't going quietly.

With 1,144 delegates needed to win the Republican nomination, it will take many more weeks for Mitt to reach that total, if he's able to do so at all.

Destructive Demi Lovato’s LAX Landing

Bringing an end to a jam-packed week, Demi Lovato was spotted arriving back home in Los Angeles on Friday night (March 9).

The 19-year-old kept her head down low as she eased past paparazzi lining the arrivals terminal at LAX Airport.

Having flown to the west coast from NYC, Miss Lovato tweeted pre-flight, "I wish planes would tell you if they're going to have internet, food, or an outlet to charge your phone BEFORE the flight!"

Meanwhile, Demi took time to chat with Z100 during her time in the Big Apple, during which she confessed to getting a bit destructive at times.

"I break things. I've trashed dressing rooms just for the hell of it. I like to throw things when I'm bored. I was trying to catch the deli meat on the ceiling... it ended up turning into kind of a food fight!" Lovato dished, adding, "I've done some pretty rock and roll things that I probably shouldn't talk about."

Heidi Klum’s Motherly Focus

Spending the day being a mom, Heidi Klum was spotted taking her daughter to ballet class in Los Angeles on Saturday (March 10).

Wearing a long black dress with sunglasses and an armful of bangles, the "Project Runway" star walked her seven-year-old daughter, Leni Samuel, to her ballet class.

The recently divorced 38-year-old is featured on a second cover of the April 2012 issue of ELLE, alongside the fronted edition of a nude and pregnant Jessica Simpson.

Inside the magazine, Heidi speaks about her reluctance to talk to the press about her split with Seal, as she dished, “I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had. Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don’t think it’s necessary—especially for our children—to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.”

Paula Deen on Lawsuit: I’m an Extortion Victim!

Paula Deen says the ex-general manager of her restaurant who is suing for sexual harassment tried to extort her by demanding seven figures from her.

If she failed to put up, Deen says she was told she'd face "ruin."

Paula's responding to a lawsuit filed against her and her brother Bubba Heirs by Lisa Jackson, former G.M. of Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House.

Deen cited a letter from Lisa's lawyer, who wrote bluntly that Lisa would shut up and not file the lawsuit against Paula if she forked over $1.25 million.

Lisa's lawyer adds, "If we are unable to settle, the complaint will not be quietly filed. I am making arrangements for a press conference on the day of filing."

Paula is asking for a gag order in the case, prohibiting everyone in the case from blabbing to the media ... which clearly hasn't been the case up until now.

Paula's lawyer says Lisa's strategy is clear: "Pay or I will ruin you."

Lisa claims Bubba engaged in a campaign of terror, subjecting her to porn, kissing and spitting on her, making racist and sexist jokes, and on and on.

Paula denies all of Lisa's allegations, and says that just before she quit, Lisa praised Bubba and told Paula how he helped her become independent.

Britney Spears: Playing Hardball, Asking For $20 Million to Judge The X Factor?

Britney Spears has rejected a $10 million offer to judge the next season of The X Factor, and is angling for $20 million instead, The Wrap reports.

The $10 million offer was negged weeks ago, according to an individual in Spears' camp. She's looking for more money - or another option entirely.

The 30-year-old singer is instead thinking about an offer to become a resident performer at a Las Vegas hotel in the fall, a la Celine Dion. Hmm ...

Britney Spears in a Black Dress

What Fox has shelled out for The X Factor judges so far pales in comparison to what Spears is looking for. Paula Abdul was paid $2.5 million for the last season.

She was also fired, as were Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones.

The X Factor is already recording its audition phase, but won’t need the judges until the end of May, and the show is said to be desperately seeking a big name.

Fox won't comment. Spears won't comment. Simon Cowell's camp won't comment. Fox's upfronts are May 14, so look for ... something to happen by then.

Would Britney be a good X Factor judge?

Details remain scarce, but sources close to the singer say the condition may be gallstones and that Phillips suffered through a similar condition in January and also sought medical attention for it at that time.

Let's all hope the scare isn't anything serious and that Phillips, who Randy Jackson compared to Dave Matthews last week and who sits near the top of all power rankings, is healthy enough to continue on the show.

We'll update this story as more news breaks.

Elisabeth Moss Slams Ex-Husband, Sexes Up Page Six Magazine

Elisabeth Moss is not known for being outspoken or particularly sexy.

But the Mad Men star sets out to change both those perceptions in the latest issue of Page Six Magazine. First, the sexiness:

Elisabeth Moss for Page Six Magazine

Asked about her divorce from Saturday Night Live player Fred Armisten, meanwhile, Moss at first told the publication "it's so hard to talk about," but then added:

"One of the greatest things I heard someone say about [Fred] is, 'He's so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.' To me, that sums it up."

Laughing about how she'll likely receive a "slap on the wrist" for the comment, Moss said she's been a "good girl" for so long and, hey, "sometimes you just want to be a bad girl for a minute."

Does she still talk with her ex?

"Oh god, no," Moss said.

Does she want to settle down again? Sure. Probably. Someday. For now...

"I obviously want a partner in life, and I want someone to grow old with, but there's also a nice time when you're young to enjoy being you. It's fun to go out at night and not know what's going to happen. I'm addicted to and obsessed with my freedom in that sense. I'm having fun!"
